The Kapil Sharma Show set to go off air? That question is ringing loud and clear everywhere, especially online. The Kapil Sharma show began amid the ‘new normal’ and reportedly also generated good TRP ratings. However, on Sunday the reports started doing the rounds that the much-loved The Kapil Sharma Show is set to go off air.
Well, yes. The Kapil Sharma Show will go off air soon. However, it is likely to return with a new season, reported TellyChakkar without citing the reasons.
Meanwhile, now the reason behind this has been disclosed. As per a report in The Times of India, multiple reasons have come about for Kapil to pull the plug off his much loved hit comedy show.
Talking about the reason behind The Kapil Sharma Show going off air, a source told the portal, “Contrary to reports, there is no revamp plan. Kapil’s show has been a favourite with masses because of many reasons. The audience participation was one driving factor for the show. Currently, there is no live audience due to the pandemic. Films too are not releasing and so, Bollywood actors are not coming to the show for any film promotion. So, the makers felt that it would be ideal to take a break right now and return when things get back to normal.”
The report also suggested that Kapil’s wife Ginni Chatrath’s second pregnancy is also one of the reasons too. The source further said, “Kapil Sharma’s wife Ginni is expecting their second child and the break would be ideal for him to stay at home and focus on giving quality time to the family. This break will give him that much-needed time to spend with family. The show too can return with more entertaining content after a three-month break.”
Earlier, Kapil Sharma announced that he is all set to make his digital debut with a Netflix original and the announcement was made earlier this year.
He wrote on his Instagram page, “This is the auspicious news. Dont believe rumours guys, only, believe me, Im coming to @netflix_in. Soon!”
In a statement, Kapil had said, “I am super excited for my first-ever association with Netflix. 2020 has been a bumpy ride for everyone around the world and my motive is to make people forget their worries and welcome this new year with love, laughter and positivity. I always wanted to be on Netflix but I didnt have their number (hahaha). Its a project close to my heart and I cannot wait to share more details with my fans soon.”
The Kapil Sharma Show ran nearly for two years and was on a break due to the coronavirus pandemic in 2020.
